The Crew

by SHACKLED DOWN

about

SHACKLED DOWN is new band with PIGNATION members in its line-up. This debut full length executes 14 tight and short anthems typical for US thrash/hardcore/crossover tradition of '80's, comprarable to STRAIGHT AHEAD, SICK OF IT ALL, CRYPTIC SLAUGHTER, SEPTIC DEATH, D.R.I. Melodies, breakdowns, choruses and splendid artwork are definitely good sides of "The Crew". Songs like "Get Out Off My Face", "Show Me Your Tolerance" or "Six 6 Six For Life" say it all. Prepare yourself for huge dose of high energy thrash that will shackle you down!!!

SHACKLED DOWN plays fist pumping, pit swirling, skateboard crashing, taking-it-to-the-streets hardcore that owes equal debts to classic sXe in the INSTED vein and NYHC in the AGNOSTIC FRONT vein. Think oldschool, especially if you define oldschool as late 80s and early 90s gang chorus hc. Once upon a time you found music like this on Pushead compilations and on Mystic. This is the real deal. Very well done. One of the best things about this CD is the fact SHACKLED DOWN is smart enough to keep the pace fast and furious. In the late 80s and early 90s too many bands tried to experiment with varied pacing and as a result slowed down too much. Fortunately we had bands like INFEST who were playing at an exhausting velocity. Thrashing, baby, thrashing. SHACKLED DOWN don't play at an INFEST pace by any means, but they do keep it in high gear. A solid release. - In Music We Trust
